Q: When you are saying "High Clearance" do you mean over the knuckle? I would like that. I will have the double eared right steering knuckle.will they be cut to the proper length for the double eared knuckle? and proper toe? Thanks Matt B.
A: The High Clearance simply means it clears the sway bar link mounts on the axle and large aftermarket diff covers.
Q: Do I need to ream or drill out the steering knuckle with this upgrade on a ZJ? Just making sure I order everything I'lll need.
A: The knuckles Just need to be drilled to 5/8". A quality drill bit will work!
Q: Does this come with a track bar? If it doesn't, shouldn't i upgrade to with this this kit?
A: Hey Corey,
This is just the crossover setup, this includes the drag link and tie rod. This setup will work with any other aftermarket track bar on the market. We even have a few customers still using the stock track bar with this steering upgrade, but we do recommend an aftermarket adjustable track bar.
Q: Would this setup eliminate the use of a steering stabilizer?
A: Hey Cory,
By default yes this does eliminate the stabilizer. However if you feel the need to add it we do sell a bracket that allows you to run the stabilizer with this setup.
We have found that the majority of our customers do decide to eliminate it.
Q: I have a 1996 cherokee XJ with a 6.5” lift and 35” tires. I have a beefed up tie rod, but the drag link is stock and I’m looking to go away from the inverted Y design that comes factory. Currently I’m trying to deside between an OTK kit and your kit. I don’t really “need” all the clearance from OTK, nor do I want to do all the modifying and fab work. My goal is just to tighten my steering so there isn’t so much play in the left to right turning. Does your kit help meet my goal? Let me know your thoughts, I can send a picture of my set up of that helps. Thank you! -Chris
A: Hey Chris,
One of the best things about our kit is that it can be ran UTK or OTK! So if you want to install it under the knuckle to begin with you can..then later down the road if you decide to move it OTK all you do is move the tie rod to the top of the knuckle.
Moving OTK requires that you also relocate your track bar above the axle (we have an over the axle track bar available) but this entails welding on a new mount on the axle.
If youre just looking to tighten up the steering and increase the strength id suggest going with the high clearance crossover setup and installing it UTK, then you have the option to move it OTK later if you decide to!
Q: I'm looking upgrade to hydro assist in the near future but would like to beef up steering with something like this in the meantime so which would be recommended, the standard or high clearance?
A: Hey Jacob. I would recommend going for the High Clearance kit just to ensure the tie rod will have enough clearance between the diff cover. Te standard kit may not clear some after market covers whereas the High clearance kit will clear any cover out there.
Q: I really like this setup and im ready to order but it says its on back order. Timing is crucial unfortunatly because this is my daily driver and only means to get me to and from work and its currently parked. So how long will i bee waiting once i make the purchase?
A: Hey Justin,
Currently we are around 10 business days from the time it is ordered, until the time it leaves our shop. This is by far our most popular item so we have had a tough time keeping it on the shelf.
Q: How does this hook on to the dana 30 if it doesn't hook to the tierod ? Do you drill an extra hole or do you stack them on the bolt you supply?
A: This replaces the entire factory tie rod and drag link assembly.
Q: Hey guys, I'm building an MJ with 7" springs and custom long arms. Definitely going with your crossover steering kit. What do you recommend as far as how much of a dropped pitman arm I should run with your steering kit? I don't want to drop it down too low and have to cut down the drag link. Thanks for you help!
A: Any drop pitman arm for 6+" of lift should be fine, You shouldn't run into any situations where you have a drag link thats too long with that much lift.
Let me know how we can help!
Q: It says ships in 7-10 buisness days, does that mean it leaves the wearhouse in 7-10 or total shipping is 7-10?
A: Currently we are around 7-10 days from the time it leaves our facility. We should be caught up for same day shipment within the next few weeks.
